CBD FAQ

Learning more about CBD can help you decide if it is the right choice for you. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions.

Commonly Asked CBD Questions

(aka FAQs)

What is CBD?

CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, which is a naturally occurring constituent of the cannabis and hemp plants. Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis, and it is often classified as a nutritional component and wellness supplement.

Of all the cannabinoids found in hemp, CBD has excited the medical community the most with its potential health benefits. Recently, scientific studies have been exploring the positive health benefits that CBD has to offer, opening up a world of treatment options for patients with a wide range of medical conditions.

Although it is a cannabinoid, CBD does not directly interact with the brain’s usual cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. Instead, it indirectly signals these receptors to regulate your mood, appetite, memory, and reaction to pain. CBD has also been found to inhibit the enzyme breakdown of the body’s naturally-produced cannabinoids. In general, these interactions can alleviate specific symptoms and help you feel better.*

What is CBD Oil Used For?

CBD oil is a specific type of cannabis oil that utilizes CBD as its main component. At 43 Solutions, we use an ethanol-based extraction process to obtain the CBD oil from our artisan hemp, to provide an extremely pure, high-quality oil. This oil is then used to make supplements that come in a variety of forms, including tinctures, concentrates, salves, and capsules. Our products are “full spectrum” meaning they contain a wide variety of cannabinoids naturally occurring in hemp.

What Does CBD Help With?

Based on customer feedback and medical research CBD can support a healthy lifestyle and in many cases, provide relief from a range of conditions*. Many CBD users report experiencing relief from chronic issues such as pain, inflammation, or skin problems. CBD has also been connected to the reduction of aches and pains as a result of an active lifestyle and a reduction of oxidative stress, which can help provide support for people that suffer from anxiety or depression.

Is CBD Psychoactive? (Does it get your high?)

When it comes to the effects of CBD oil, one of the top questions we are asked is “does CBD oil get you high?” The answer to this question is no. Cannabidiol is classified as mildly psychoactive and can actually counteract the psychoactivety of THC.  CBD is one of the top cannabinoids present in the hemp plant, with the other abundant cannabinoids being THC, CBD, CBG and CBDA. THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid that provides users with the “high” that many people associate with cannabis. Our products contain less than .3% THC, resulting in no psychoactive effects under normal dosages. Our products give you all the benefits of the cannabis plant without the high.*

How Does CBD Make You Feel?

Although every person is different, the most common effect of CBD is a noticeable improvement in overall physical and mental comfort. Because CBD does not have the psychoactive properties of THC, you aren’t going to feel any sort of “high” or significant alteration of your mental state. Instead, most users feel as if you just took a dose of very effective medicine.*

Is CBD Oil Legal?

Yes, CBD oil is derived from hemp and is legal in the state of Colorado and now in all 50 states. The passing of the 2018 farm bill, also known as the  Agricultural Act of 2018, gave authorization to state departments of agriculture and institutions of higher learning in states that have legalized hemp cultivation to grow the crop for research and pilot programs. It is categorized as a food-based product by the Colorado Department of Health and Environment. The cultivation of Colorado hemp is overseen by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

What is the Entourage Effect?

The entourage effect is the phenomena of multiple cannabinoids working synergistically to be more effective than they would singularly. As a group working in concert, they complement and multiply effectiveness and efficiency. In our formulas, cannabidiol (CBD) is the dominant cannabinoid, being supported and complemented with other cannabinoids, such as THC, CBN, and CBG to name a few. Some of these are lesser known and significantly smaller portions but are very powerful in their supporting roles as they complement the CBD in our full spectrum formula. Together they provide a full range of healing properties yet to be fully understood and defined by science, yet the anecdotal results are undisputed.

We are proud to provide formulas loaded with a variety of supporting cannabinoids in addition to our powerhouse CBD. Cannabidiol propelled by the “Entourage Effect” is proving to be the most dynamic supplement nature has to offer! Working in concert, these bioactive compounds optimize health and wellness, triggering powerful chemical interactions, known as the entourage effect.*

cbd tincture drop faqWE BELIEVE IN DOING THINGS THE RIGHT WAY

Our hemp is grown and harvested in the Western Slope of Colorado on organic farms. Crisp mountain air, incredibly pure spring water, and the rich soil all combine to create the perfect growing conditions for our high-quality hemp.

UNIQUE FORMULAS SET US APART

We work with farmers that grow hemp on organic farms. Our hemp is grown with love and ingenuity, and never touched by pesticides or harmful chemicals. This results in potent, healing plant genetics we use in our unique CBD oil products.

We don’t “isolate” the varying cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavanoids found in the hemp plant like a lot of hemp companies on the market.

Instead, we make a “full-spectrum” oil with many different cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavanoids. Research shows that full-spectrum CBD oil creates the “entourage effect”, a natural, synergistic phenomenon that increases healing.

Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are a class of diverse chemical compounds that act on naturally occurring cannabinoid receptors found in our cells that alter neurotransmitters released in the brain.*

Terpenes

The hemp plant produces fragrant oils called Terepenes. Scientific research has shown that Terepenes bind to receptors in the human body and affect a number of health benefits.*

Flavanoids

Flavanoids are a diverse group of phytonutrients found in hemp, and almost all fruits and vegetables.
